Cipher Mysteries update...

Just a quick reminder that all the latest news, views, research and reviews on the enigmatic Voynich Manuscript now appear on Nick Pelling's Cipher Mysteries blog.

"Curse" first review!

Barbara Barrett's review of The Curse of the Voynich has (at last) appeared in the February 2007 edition of Fortean Times (p.61). She gives it a very splendid 9/10, calling it a "monumental achievement", and sums up with the verdict of "a fortean, if flawed, masterpiece" (having earlier noted that those flaws were minor).

It's hard not to speculate that this might have reached 10/10 had mispelling her surname on the acknowledgements page not been one of those flaws... oh well! :-o

Fortean Times is (of course) probably the foremost journal collecting bizarre world phenomena (Hansard has a specific UK bias), and is hence a wonderful place for a book on the enigmatic Voynich manuscript to be reviewed in. A great start! :-)

Any day now...

Our first short print run is slated to be ready in the middle of this coming week, so we're getting very excited here. I've posted a PDF information sheet on "The Curse of the Voynich" onto the Compelling Press website, and have been busy clearing the decks to be prepared to ship our first wave of orders ASAP.

We're also looking forward to seeing our first review (by Barbara Barrett in Fortean Times, hopefully very shortly)... and many more beyond that!

"The Curse of the Voynich" approacheth...

Yes, Compelling Press's very first title "The Curse of the Voynich" is 99.99% finished - but why is it that the last 0.01% always takes so long?

We've worked really hard to get the details right in the book itself - and we're now busy slaving away on all the behind-the-scenes tasks, to get them right too.
